Mudeford Spit Beach
When visiting our beaches, try to avoid the crowds by viewing our Beach Check page which features a live map and a free application to download showcasing how busy the beach areas are and other useful information that will prepare you for your trip to our wonderful destination.
Sandy and quiet beaches which are good for bathing.
The area is popular amongst dog walkers. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on site, but off the beaches, please respect that this is a nature reserve with plenty of rare and easily-frightened wildlife, keeping your four-legged friends under close control (on a lead is just perfect).
There are numerous beach huts and basic conveniences such as toilet blocks, restaurant / café and kiosk. The closest car park is next to the entrance of Hengistbury Head and Hiker Café.
A pathway for pedestrians and cyclists runs from the Hiker Café / car park to the Mudeford Spit beaches. There is also a land train for those who can’t walk the distance or would like to enjoy the land train ride.
There is no lifeguard service at Mudeford Spit.
