Bournemouth might be famous for its extraordinary beaches and sunny days but it’s also a great destination to enjoy all year-round, whatever the weather! Thanks to its very own micro-climate on the southern coast, Bournemouth enjoys some of the best weather in the UK.

Average winter temperatures rarely drop below 0 degrees whilst during summertime the town and beaches can offer temperatures of up to 32 degrees for visitors to bask in.

Bournemouth is said to receive around 1,765 sunshine hours per year. It also enjoys drier seasons of around 7.5 months increasing the chance of getting a rain free day whilst visiting.

  • January see’s highs of around 12 degrees and usually averages lows of about 3 degrees.
  • February is typically when the coldest weather is expected in Bournemouth with lows averaging 2 degrees and highs of around 8 degrees.
  • March is when things start to slowly get warmer so expect to see highs of 15 degrees on some days but there are lows of around 4 degrees.
  • April can offer highs of 19 degrees during certain days with an average low of 6 degrees.
  • May really steps things up in the weather department with some days reaching over 20 degrees and lows averaging around 9 degrees.
  • June is when things start to become hotter, Bournemouth can see temperatures soaring above 24 degrees during certain days and experiences average lows of 11 degrees.
  • July typically includes Bournemouth’s hottest days of the year and can exceed temperatures well above 25-degrees and lows of around 13-degrees.
  • August can also see temperatures soaring over the 25-degree mark with average lows of around 11 degrees which is the start of those colder nights.

  • December offers cosy festive highs of 13 degrees and lows of around 3 degrees.
