Summer is the perfect time to visit Bournemouth! As the temperature rises, enjoy our beautiful coastline and surrounding areas, whether it’s paddling barefoot with your family or sipping a cocktail in one of the many bars and cafes, you decide.
Windswept hair and sandy toes
If it's sandcastle building and family fun by the seaside you are after, you’ve come to the perfect destination. We have fabulous stretches of golden sand spanning for miles; with the peaceful pine forests at Highcliffe to the family beaches at Bournemouth bustling with trendy cafes and bars.
Take a walk along our famous Piers, with fabulous views over to the Isle of Wight and Studland. If it’s rainy then there are plenty of fantastic attractions right by the beach, including indoor amusements and the romantically inspired Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum. Our attractions page and activities pages have plenty of suggestions if you need some inspiration.
Please remember to respect, protect, and enjoy our beaches and leave only footprints when you go.
Alfresco eating and food and drink
Bournemouth’s exceptional variety of restaurants, bars, and cafes are endless, the only difficulty will be choosing where you want to eat. Many of our establishments have wonderful vistas. So sit back, relax, and make some wonderful memories this summer.
