Respect, Protect & Enjoy Bournemouth

Welcome!

We hope that you will enjoy your time here, whether you are on holiday or on a daytrip. Bournemouth boasts seven miles of beaches and over 2000 acres of parks and gardens, so there’s plenty of amazing outdoor space to enjoy.

Can we ask you something?

Can you help us to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy our beautiful resort in a safe and responsible way?
Can you help us to look after our local community during your visit?
Can you take care of our precious environment so future visitors can also enjoy it?

Here’s how to do it and it’s really simple.
Thank you.

#RespectProtectEnjoy

Respect Bournemouth

  • Respect our local communities by sticking to the Public Right of Way (footpaths and bridleways), keeping dogs on the lead, not picnicking on private land, not parking outside people’s houses, and #LeaveOnlyFootprints by taking your litter home.
  • Respect the wildlife. Nature has a way of reclaiming its territory, so please tread carefully and look out for wildlife that you might come across. Please keep your dog on the lead and stick to footpaths and bridleways so as not to disturb ground nesting birds and other wildlife.

Protect Bournemouth

  • Protect our local forests, woodlands and cliff sides, many of which are precious nature reserves, by not using disposable BBQs or lighting small fires.
  • Protect the landscape and follow the Countryside Code, should you venture further afield this sets out how you can behave safely and responsibly in more rural areas.
  • Protect the environment by travelling sustainably. If you can, try to journey by foot or bike. This means you’ll have a chance to experience the beauty of the wider region as you travel, and you won’t have to worry about finding a car parking space.

Enjoy Bournemouth

  • Enjoy getting off the beaten track. Seek out some new favourites away from the crowds, perhaps head inland and enjoy our open countryside, riverside walks and cycle paths.
  • Enjoy our beautiful beaches safely, by following the important advice issued by the RNLI. Check for a lifeguarded beach.
  • Enjoy supporting our local businesses. Help our local economy thrive by shopping with local independent businesses. Choosing where to spend our money can have a tremendously positive effect on our communities and the local economy.

And finally when the day is done, and you return home happy, tired and maybe a little sandy, please #LeaveOnlyFootprints

Thank you!
