Buckets and spades at the ready... welcome to seven miles of award-winning beaches! Nestled beneath a magnificent cliff line, the bay enjoys its own micro-climate, some of the warmest sea temperatures in the UK and stunning views of the Isle of Wight and the Purbecks.
In order to make your trip to the beach as enjoyable as possible, seafront offices are located across seven miles with dedicated teams who can help you make the most of your day out, by providing information and LV=KidZone wristbands.
For wheelchair users a beach accessible wheelchair is available from Bournemouth Beach office. Available May to September on a first come, first served basis from 9:30am to 4:30pm, users need to pay a fully refundable £50 cash deposit. Please note there is no pre-booking service for the wheelchair.
For ease of access to the beach, Cliff Lifts are situated at West Cliff and Fisherman's Walk along side zigzag path ways. The Land Train also runs along the promenade - you can travel from Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Pier, via Boscombe Precinct and Gardens or from Bournemouth Pier to Branksome Chine in Poole.
*** Please note that the Land Train is currently running a reduced service between Bournemouth and Boscombe Piers. A list of BCP Council service changes can be found here.***
Four fixed electric beach BBQs are available from early summer until October, between 10am to 10pm, on a first come, first serve basis. Free to use, the environmentally friendly hot plate design is perfect for sharing on this family friendly beach. The communal BBQs will help beach visitors reduce litter and leave only footprints after a day on the sand. The clever timer system is designed to give 20 minutes cooking time with an auto switch off system. For more information and details of more electric BBQ locations check our user guide.
Relax with your own spot of paradise along the glorious sands and book a beach hut with daily and weekly hire.
Beach safety
To stay safe at the beach, always swim at a lifeguarded beach between the red and yellow flags and never swim alone. For exact locations and patrol times of the lifeguarded beaches across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole visit the RNLI website.
