About
The Cliff Lifts are opening 12th April. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by the closure. A full list of BCP Council service closures can be found here.
The Cliff Lift offers easy access from the beach to the cliff tops as well as stunning views of the coast. Running on tracks, the cliff lifts are actually classed as light railways so jump on board for the most unusual railway journey of your life. The Fisherman’s Walk Cliff Lift, built in 1935, links the beach with a great cliff top café and children’s play area.
Keeping you safe

For your and our safety, staff will be on hand to help or answer queries and wearing PPE.
Keep to your family group or bubble and keep your distance from others.
Card payments only
Staff will be cleaning passenger seating and doors following each journey.
When boarding the lift, passengers must wear face masks in line with Government guidance.
No food can be eaten in the cliff lift.
