About Us
Set in a mythical “once upon a time” sort of land, Shrek The Musical is the story of a big, green, smelly ogre who is living his happy ever after all alone in his swamp until suddenly, a gang of homeless fairy-tale characters (Pinocchio, Cinderella, the Three Pigs, you name it) move in by request of Lord Farquaad. When Shrek and Farquaad meet, the Lord strikes a deal with Shrek: he’ll give the fairy-tale characters their homes back, if Shrek rescues Princess Fiona from a tower guarded by a vicious dragon. Accompanied by his wise-cracking 'noble-stead', Donkey, that is exactly what he does - but things are not always as simple as they first seem.
Based on the 2001 Dreamworks movie, the award winning Shrek The Musical, with music by Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie) and book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire (High Fidelity), features all the characters that you know and love with some fantastic, uplifting songs that will keep your hoofs tapping all the way out of the theatre.
