Bournemouth’s beautiful sandy beaches stretch along our coastline for seven miles and from the clifftops and along the shoreline offer stunning views of the Isle of Wight to the East and the Jurassic Coastline to the West. There are plenty of activities, attractions, dining out and entertainment options all along our coastline.
Bournemouth town centre offers many great things to see and do and can be easily explored on foot. From the seafront you can wander through the beautiful Grade 11 listed Lower Gardens that takes you into our town centre. Discover the pretty seasonal flowerbeds, pine tree pathways, rock garden and Pine Walk Bandstand hosting seasonal events and activities. Bournemouth town centre has an excellent range of shopping and eating out experiences. From big high street names and brands to individual boutiques and seasonal local markets surrounded by national and international dining out options throughout the town centre and beyond.

Bournemouth’s Coastal Villages
Situated along our coastline you will find the charming and characterful ‘coastal villages’ of Westbourne, Boscombe and Southbourne. Towards Poole and Sandbanks lies Westbourne with its beautiful Victorian Grade 11 listed arcade and village centre offering with an abundance of art galleries, delicatessens, independent shops and boutiques, restaurants, cafes and bars.
To the east of Bournemouth, you will find Boscombe and Southbourne. With quieter beaches, expanding high streets with independent shops and unique restaurants. If vintage is your thing, from Boscombe High Street take a stroll down Christchurch Road towards Southbourne, to discover Pokesdown’s many antique stores, independent shops, retro and vintage stores, locally known as the ‘Pokesdown Mile’.

Beyond the Beach…
With 1000 hectares of parks, gardens and nature reserves, many of which are situated north of the town centre, there is plenty more to explore as you head away from the beaches. North of Bournemouth town centre you will find Charminster and Winton, which are popular due to their proximity to the Universities and their diverse array of restaurants. The long Wimborne Road which has many shops, cafes, restaurants and amenities will take you all the way to Moordown and Muscliff, other popular residential areas with great access to the River Stour and local nature reserves. These areas all have easy public transport links to the town centre and nearby amenities.
