It’s a quintessential British tradition established by Anna, the Duchess of Bedford in the 19th century, to fill the void between lunch and dinner. Although nowadays, it is seen more of a treat, and a luxury to be spoilt with delicious, sweet treats, savoury bites, and flavoursome teas, or even fizz! 

Summer has well and truly begun in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole, as BBQ season is finally here! Enjoy our beautiful beaches whilst the sun is beaming down; there is nothing better than the smell of a sizzling BBQ with the best company of friends and family.  

Enjoying the warm weather beyond the beach with a spot of stand up paddleboarding in Poole harbour. 

Bikers on the South Coast descend on Poole Quay every Tuesday evening to meet up for the famous Poole Dream Machines weekly bike meetup to show off and check out each other’s bikes as well as enjoying good old fish and chips on the Quay. The event runs from April 5 to September 27, and I recently had the opportunity to go down and check it out for myself.
