BEAF Art Pavilion

The Art Pavilion is an interactive space designed for workshops and performances. Positioned next to Costa Coffee on Boscombe high street there will be free drop-in and bookable workshops every day, from kids colouring to screen-printing and creative writing.

For Clara

Transport yourself into the future with the travelling pop-up van exhibition, For Clara. This giant time capsule contains stories, images, video and writing addressed to artist Anders Birger’s imaginary great, great granddaughter. Created in collaboration with Nora, Anders’ nine-year-old daughter, For Clara is their attempt to imagine what the future might hold.

The Buzztastic Bee-Balancing Blundershow

You might have heard of a flea circus, but what about a Bee Circus?! The Buzztastic Bee-Balancing Blundershow is a new, family friendly show from Dorset artists Sophie Fretwell and Bogdan Babei. Prepare to ‘bee’ amazed! Free

BCUC and Harare at the O2 Academy

Love live music and dancing? Don’t miss the BEAF launch party at the O2 Academy, Bournemouth. BCUC is bringing funk, hip hop and punk rock energy all the way from Soweto. BCUC will be supported by Harare, featuring the rich tones of marimba, mbira, swooping basslines and irresistible.

Seeking Refuge presents The Stories We Thread

The Stories We Thread brings together all voices from the Seeking Refuge community group. Using one of the oldest photographic printing techniques, the cyanotype, this camera-less process helps to represent the stories and journeys of all those who have fled their homes. Free

In Touch by Miss High-Leg Kick

Journey back to the 1950s through music, dance and fragrance! In Touch celebrates the memories of three girls on the Boscombe Hippodrome dancefloor on a night out in 1959. Featuring classic dances of the era, including The Stroll, Twist and more. Fun, accessible and suitable for all ages. Free

‘kid’

‘kid’ is a one-man show written by Si Mack, writer in residence at The Outsiders Project. It’s a beautifully written story about a man learning to be a Dad. ‘kid’ is a 16+ event and contains strong language. Tickets are priced at ‘pay what you can’

Stateless

Don’t miss this awe-inspiring fusion of dance circus by Joli Vyann. Combining hand-to-hand acrobatics and the Cyr wheel with graceful contemporary dance, Stateless is a performance like no other. All money from ticket sales go to Bournemouth Foodbank.

Eye contact

Join artist Keira Rathbone in the Art Pavilion where she will be creating live typewriter artworks, documenting the eyes of passers-by. Keira’s collection of eyes will form a beautiful, free art trail of typewriter art over the course of the festival. Free

Getting to BEAF 

BEAF is just a 10-minute bus ride from central Bournemouth and there is plenty of Parking nearby. You can also hop on a Beryl bike for a more sustainable way to travel to and from the festival.
