About Us
Join Poole BID for the Circus Spectacle on Saturday 14 September, from 10am until 6.30pm. There will be a host of things to enjoy including street performances, workshops and family-friendly activities throughout the high street and on Poole Quay.
During the day, there will be various spectacular circus acts, who are recognised across the world for their extraordinary performances. Ranging from an award-winning juggler to a pirate themed acrobat show, there will be something for the whole family to enjoy.
The event, jointly organised by Poole BID and Thirty 12 Events, is just one of the activities Poole BID is undertaking to increase the vitality and viability of Poole town centre.
Events will begin on the Upper High Street, where entertainment act, Higher Beings, will be inviting guests to try out their circus bikes, unicycles, tightrope or slackline and stilts. Award winning act, Arthur the Juggler, will also be on hand showing off his range of skills, as well as well-known children’s entertainers, Marky Jay and Loz.
From 11am, Steve Kaos, who has performed all over the world, will be on the middle of the High Street entertaining guests, with international circus performer, Thomas Trilby.
Multiple award-winning children’s entertainer, Jamie Jigsaw will delight guests near the Orchard Plaza from 11am, with his magic skills, juggling and stilt walking.
From 2pm on The Quay, pirate themed aerial act, Pokya, will soar above the audience, performing high flying dynamic sequences. The fun packed day of entertainment will end with a slacklining performance from Men in Slacks.
Ailsa Wilson, BID Manager, commented: “I think it’s going to be a thrilling day. Poole BID have worked their stripey, circus-style socks off to present to you our first Circus Spectacle! We bring to you, for one day only, some of the world’s most sought-after circus artists, acrobats, slackliners, jugglers and general all-round funny folks! Brace yourself for a day of hair-raising and rip-roaring family fun.”
Jeanette Walsh, BID Board Member, added: “The events organised by Poole BID are always great fun and enjoyed by everyone whether you live in Poole or are visiting our town. My business has seen a benefit from these events, we have noticed an increase in visitors to my shop and customers now know we stay open late during all events."
Poole BID works in partnership with other organisations including the local businesses, BCP Council, Dorset Police and Poole Tourism with the aim of making Poole an attractive place to live, work and visit. For more information about Poole BID and the Circus Spectacle visit www.poolebid.com
