About Us

Previously known as the Bournemouth Jazz Festival, the Jazz by the Sea Festival returns with a fresh new look this year.

Bringing well known jazz professionals to Lighthouse to perform with local musicians during the week-long festival taking place in June at a variety of venues across Bournemouth and Poole.

The aim is to create a series of world class jazz entertainment events for the benefit of the local population and at the same time enhance the region’s cultural and tourism profile.

Accompanied by her full orchestra with an impressive 7 piece string section and conducted by world class trumpeter/composer Guy Barker, BBC’s award-winning singer Clare Teal presents her family show with a rich, jazz infused repertoire that explores timeless classics penned by the legendary musical storytellers of the last 100 years and celebrating the giants of the Great American and British Songbooks.

As the UK’s most popular Queen of Swing, Clare Teal’s concerts are renowned for their energetic exuberance. This promises to be an evening of inspired music and unbridled entertainment, performed by world class jazz musicians.

Additional Information
Parking is available at the Dolphin Shopping Centre multi-storey opposite Lighthouse and there is level access car park directly adjacent. Dolphin Swimming Centre car park next to Everyone Active, a five minute walk away. Disabled parking is available directly outside Lighthouse.
