Following the success of a fantastic inaugural event welcoming over 8,000 visitors to Poole Quay over the 2 days, Seafood & Sounds is back for 2024! Come & Join this Community Event September 14th - 15th - showcasing the businesses in Old Town Poole & Poole Quay with plenty of seafood, local produce, a craft market in Hennings and music along the Quay & Old Town!
Seafood & Sounds, a vibrant business led community event organised by a dedicated group of Business Owners situated in Old Town and The Quay and supported by funding from BCP Council and Poole BID.
Over the weekend, you will be treated to exceptional local acts, sharing a diverse musical line up and will feature a daily ‘Fisherman’s Market’ at Hennings, showcasing fresh catches and local seafood delicacies.
Participating restaurants will also offer specially crafted seafood dishes, adding to the culinary delights of the occasion.
WHAT'S IN STORE SO FAR!
The weekend kicks off with a parade from The Slug & Lettuce down Old Town and onto the Quay, there will be music from Samba Panashe followed by children from local schools & community groups, the children will be dressed up in fancy dress and some parading their homemade seacreature masks or fish they have coloured in. The Parade is being sponsored by Oriels Restaurant.
Music all afternoon featuring twenty acts performing on Five stages being organised by Absolute music.
Enjoy specially created seafood dishes at participating local hospitality businesses – ALL WEEKEND! Look out for the “Special” seafood offering during the weekend advertised in their windows or on special boards.
Daily ‘Produce & Gift Market’ in La Mias previously Hennings on the Quay. Featuring fish and shellfish stalls, and local produce suppliers.
Nusara Poole is offering Seafood Specials on both Saturday and Sunday and Live music “Old Town Boulevard Stage” sponsored by NUSARA
SEAFOOD & SOUNDS OYSTER TRAIL
Family fun with the Seafood & Sounds Oyster Trail running over the weekend in partnership with Nead from Surf Tide Treasures. Its similar to a treasure hunt except you are looking for decorated oyster shells hidden throughout the Old Town, Thames Street, Market Street and the Quay. Each of the oyster shells are decorated and feature a letter which when all are collected will form a phrase.
