Performing the Past - Prehistoric Pottery Bonfire Firing

About Us

We are going to have fun watching the firing of the pots we made over the last two sessions. If you don’t have a pot we would love you to watch too and join in. This is for all ages and abilities – even if you are home schooling!  Assistant Curator Hayden Scott-Pratt will be using the methods we think ancient people followed 2000 thousand years ago. The pots that survive the heat can be either taken home or kept for our future workshops. If you have a pot, Hayden will contact you regarding delivery to Hengistbury Head. 

This event is part of the Performing the Past project which aims to engage local people in local archaeology, focused around the well-used but little known site of Hengistbury Head.
