Day 1: Pier Fun & Underwater Wonders

Day 1 – AM: The day begins on the main Bournemouth Beach, the heart of the action. A great strategy is to hire one of the iconic beach huts for the day, providing a convenient "home base" for storing belongings, making drinks, and having a dedicated spot on the sand for sandcastle building and paddling breaks.

Day 1 – PM (Afternoon): For lunch, it has to be fish and chips, enjoyed with a sea view on the pier. The afternoon is packed with classic seaside entertainment. Start with a visit to the Oceanarium on the seafront, where the underwater tunnel, penguin enclosure, and otter habitat provide an engaging all-weather activity. Afterwards, let the kids loose in the pier amusements before tackling a round of adventure golf at Smugglers Cove at Pier Approach.

Day 1 – PM (Evening): In the evening, head to the BH2 Leisure complex in the town centre. This modern hub offers a wide choice of familiar, family-friendly restaurant chains such as Pizza Express or N. The evening can be rounded off with the latest blockbuster at the state-of-the-art Odeon cinema located within the same complex.

Day 2: Theme Parks & Cliff Lifts

Day 2 – AM & PM: For a full day of excitement, take a short drive to one of the area's popular family theme parks. Discovery Village, located near Bournemouth Airport, is a unique indoor, all-weather play centre, specifically designed for younger children. Alternatively, Paultons Park, home of the world-famous Peppa Pig World, is an achievable day trip and a major draw for families.

For families who prefer to stay local, an alternative morning can be spent with a ride on the historic West Cliff Lift, which offers fantastic panoramic views as it travels from the promenade up to the cliff top. Before heading home, enjoy one last ice cream on the promenade and take a relaxing ride on the land train. The route along the seafront to Boscombe Pier and back is a perfect way to see more of the coastline without tiring out little legs.
