SURF AND PADDLE BOARDING HIRE AND LESSONS
Who: Shaka Surf is Dorset’s only Surfing England Accredited surf school.
About: Why wouldn’t you take advantage of being on the best beaches on the South Coast?! Whether it's a tranquil paddle board on a sunny day or a surfing lesson when the swell is working then Shaka Surf are your local go-to!
How it works: Shaka Surf is located at Branksome Dene Chine, just a few steps away from the car park. Plus, toilets and amenities are just a short stroll down the promenade – all you need to bring is swimwear, a towel, suncream and a big smile! We offer surfing, paddle boarding, bodyboarding and kayaking so there is something for everyone whether you are looking to hire and have a play or to get a lesson. Head to the water and learn a new and exciting skill – and watch your friends shred a wave or do a few wipe-outs while laughing at the same time.
Surfing. We teach paddle technique, stamina, pop-up (how to get up on to the surfboard) to suit the individual - very important as everybody learns at a different rate.
Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP). We assess your ability then offer basic learning drills, stamina building, sprint training or just slowly paddling around taking in the tranquillity.
Hire. If you can surf or paddleboard already, then we have lots of boards and wetsuits (and boots and gloves for the colder weather). Plus we have bodyboards and kayaks.
Group or Private Lessons. Group surf lessons are a popular choice and include a board, a wetsuit, gloves & boots (if needed) and coaching. Or if you’d prefer something more personalised book a Private Lesson. Head to the website for more info and to book.
Hire Plus. A cheaper option. Includes 15mins tuition on the beach to give you the basics, plus 1 hour hire.
Groups & Parties. From kids’ birthday parties to Stag & Hens parties, or team building and corporate groups, we’ll make your day a hoot.
Summer Kids Surf Clubs. Weekdays in the school summer holidays 2-3 times a week. 1.5 hours pay as you go. Surfing or paddleboard fun depending on conditions on the day. All equipment supplied. Our ISA Surf instructors are DBS checked and lifeguard trained. Limited spaces. See website for more info and dates.
