If you fancy a sunshine ride along Bournemouth seafront, you’ll be pleased to know that Bournemouth’s famous land train route has been extended into Poole. The route, originally from Bournemouth Pier to Vesuvio Italian Restaurant, now goes from the Pier to Branksome Chine, taking in Alum Chine and both Durley and Middle Chine – the perfect way to get around on the seafront! Or, in the other direction, the land trains continue to run from Bournemouth to Boscombe Pier, the Beach Lodges and onto Boscombe Chine Gardens
and Boscombe High Street.
The brightly coloured fleet made up of five trains includes Flotsam and Jetsam, who joined last year. Tom Harris, Senior Seafront Ranger said; “The land trains have been part of Bournemouth’s seafront for many decades and are a much-loved asset to our famous promenade – it’s great to offer this new route into Branksome Chine so passengers can take in even more of our beautiful beaches, we look forward to welcoming everyone on board!”
The land train service to Branksome Chine is already under way, trains run daily (during April to October) and during school holidays as well as on weekends throughout the winter, subject to weather conditions.
