Welcome to another beautiful summer on our spectacular coast! Whether you are building sandcastles in Bournemouth or paddling in the sparkling waters of Poole, we want your family days out to be as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. That is why we are absolutely thrilled to announce that the hugely popular LV= KidZone beach safety scheme has returned for summer 2026.

Running from the 1st of July right through to the 31st of August, this fantastic initiative is all about keeping children and vulnerable adults safe across our 15 miles of sandy beaches. Delivered in proud partnership between BCP Council and local insurer LV=, the scheme provides a brilliantly simple way to reunite lost loved ones with their families quickly and safely.

How it works

It is incredibly easy to get involved. Simply pick up one of the free, waterproof wristbands and write your mobile number and your spot on the beach directly onto it. If your child happens to wander off while exploring the sand, our friendly beach teams will have your contact details right there on their wrist.

Last year alone, the dedicated teams handed out 37,000 wristbands and have given out nearly one million since the scheme began back in 2007. It is a tried and tested way to give parents and carers that extra bit of reassurance during the busy school holidays.

Where to find your free wristband

You can collect your free LV= KidZone wristband from any of the seafront offices and RNLI lifeguard towers across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

To help out during the peak weeks, dedicated LV= KidZone operatives will also be patrolling Bournemouth Beach from the 18th of July until the end of August. They will be actively handing out wristbands to families who want them.

Look out for the colourful shirts!

If you do become separated from a child or vulnerable person, please do not panic. Immediately report it to one of our friendly seaside teams. You can easily spot them by their brightly coloured uniforms. Look out for the LV= KidZone team in their blue shirts, the BCP Council seafront rangers in their bright pink t shirts, or the brilliant RNLI lifeguards.

The wristbands are available across all our beautiful beach locations including Alum Chine, Southbourne, Sandbanks, Shore Road and Branksome Chine.
