BOURNEMOUTH – Runners across the region can start their training as organisers have today confirmed that the Vitality Bournemouth Bay Run will return on Sunday, 22 March 2026.
Early bird entries for the hugely popular event, which sees thousands of participants run, jog, and walk along the town's iconic seafront, are now open to the public.
The event continues its tradition of catering to all ages and abilities, offering a choice of four different race distances against the scenic backdrop of Poole Bay:
- Half Marathon
- 10K Race
- 5K Race
- 1K Kids Fun Run
The 2026 event will once again be held in partnership with Title sponsor and Official Wellness Partner, Vitality, after the health and life insurer renewed its agreement with BCP Council for a further two years.
More than just a race, the event is a key fundraiser for local causes. This year's official charity partners are Dorset Mind, The Healthbus Trust, Forest Holme Hospice, and Bournemouth Foodbank.
Councillor Richard Herrett, Portfolio Holder for Destination, Leisure and Commercial Operations, described the run as a calendar highlight.
“The Vitality Bay Run is a highlight of our spring calendar - its community spirit and the atmosphere along our beautiful coast are unmatched,” he said. “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Health and Life Insurer Vitality, strengthening our focus on wellbeing and local charity support.”
Nick Read, managing director of the Vitality Programme, added: “As one of the largest employers in the area, we’re immensely proud to continue to sponsor this landmark event in the local running calendar for the next two years. The Vitality Bay Run is a fantastic event that brings the community together, inspiring people of all ages and abilities to get active.”
Those looking to secure a spot at the start line can take advantage of the early bird offer by registering now.
