See below for more details.3.00pm – 3.30pm Coffee break3.30pm – 4.30pm What is Art Needlework? – talk, demonstration and book signing with Dr Lynn Hulse4.30pm Finish(Schedule subject to change, content will remain the same) Caroline Bennett-Jane worked for Sanderson & Morris & Co. for 20 years specialising in restoration projects for historic Morris linked properties. She’s now on the committee of The Wallpaper History Society and an advisor to The William Morris Society Museum committee.Dr. Suzanne Fagence Cooper is a writer, broadcaster and curator with expertise in 19th and 20th century British art and culture. She spent 12 years at the V&A Museum, researching the Victorian collections, and is in demand as historical consultant for TV and film. She is an invited lecturer for the Arts Society and Cunard voyages. Suzanne was Research Curator for Ruskin, Turner & the Storm Cloud (York Art Gallery, 2019). She has written The Model Wife: Effie Gray, Ruskin & Millais and To See Clearly: Why Ruskin Matters. Her latest book is At Home with Jane and William Morris. She is curating a new exhibition, ‘The Beauty of the Earth: May, Jane & William Morris’ for The Arc, Winchester, opening November 2025.Dr Lynn Hulse is a textile scholar and practitioner, specialising in embroidered furnishings of the Aesthetic and Arts and Crafts movements. She is the author of several publications on decorative needlework and editor of May Morris: Art & Life (2017). Her most recent book May Morris Designs will be published by the Ashmolean Museum in August 2025. Formerly archivist at the Royal School of Needlework, Lynn now runs Ornamental Embroidery which delivers workshops, lectures and first-hand study sessions of objects in public and private collections.
