The ‘Nao Santa Maria’ tall ship will be moored at Poole Quay from the 11th June to the 22nd June 2025 as part of a ten day exhibition.
The ship’s visit will be funded by Poole BID and supported by the Poole Harbour Commissioners. It looks to build on the success of last year’s tall ship visit.
The Nao Santa Maria is rich in history; it was the largest of three ships used by Christopher Columbus in his 1492 voyage across the Atlantic.
The ship visiting Poole is a replica launched in 2018 by the Spanish organisation Fundación Nao Victoria which dedicates itself to maritime history.
The replica took 14 months to build and incorporates modern materials such as fibreglass with traditional woodwork which is faithful to the time of the ships original existence.
So, make sure you visit Poole Quay this June so you don't miss out on this amazing piece of history.
