Bournemouth Bach Choir perform Jenkins The Armed Man

A wonderfully evocative concert to be given on the Remembrance weekend, Bournemouth Bach Choir and Orchestra, with a wonderful line-up of soloists, perform Jenkins' The Armed Man - A Mass for Peace alongside Haydn's Nelson Mass . Haydn wrote his magnificent Nelson Mass with the sound of guns never far away in Europe at the very end of the 18th century. Jenkins’ popular and deeply moving The Armed Man, written to commemorate the millennium, is as an anti-war piece based on the traditional Mass alongside other religious and secular texts from a variety of cultures. It is dedicated to the victims of the war in Kosovo.Come and hear these fabulous works in the beautiful setting of Wimborne Minster.
