About Us
Sweets for My Sweet, Needles and Pins, Don’t Throw Your Love Away, When You Walk in The Room, Sugar and Spice and Goodbye My Love are just a selection of the many Top Ten hits that The Searchers enjoyed during the Swinging Sixties. The Group started way back in the early 60s in Liverpool as contemporaries and fellow Cavern Club stars alongside The Beatles, Gerry & the Pacemakers and the late Cilla Black.
Now there’s a chance to revive all those classic 45s when The Searchers play the Regent, Christchurch on Friday 7 September 7.30 pm.
Both John McNally and Frank Allen have been with the Band since those heady days in the 60s, when The Searchers rivalled their fellow Liverpudlians, The Beatles, for top spot at the famous Cavern Club.
The Searchers will be playing all those favourite seldom-performed album tracks and a selection of B sides from their hit singles.
The Searchers are as popular today, after over 50 years in the business, as they were way back in the Swinging 60s. Indeed, one of their CDs, The Very Best of the Searchers hit the Top 10 of the album charts again when it was released in 2008.
The Searchers are In Concert at the Regent in Christchurch on Friday 7 September at 7.30pm. A “must” for all Sounds of the 60s fans.
