From 1 April, guidance to the public and to businesses will be consolidated in line with public health advice.
Getting vaccinated;
Letting fresh air in if meeting indoors, or meeting outside;
Wearing a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces, especially where you come into contact with people you do not usually meet, when rates of transmission are high;
Trying to stay at home if you are unwell;
Taking a test if you have COVID-19 symptoms, and staying at home and avoiding contact with other people if you test positive; and
Washing your hands and following advice to ‘Catch it, Bin it, Kill it’.
Check the guidance here.
It is possible that more people will be taking trips and holidays in the UK this year.
It goes without saying we love our award-winning golden, sandy beaches, and we all have a responsibility to respect our town, our award-winning seafront, gardens, and open spaces - so whilst you’re here please respect, protect, and enjoy the resort.
If you want to visit the beach but prefer to find a quieter area – there’s plenty of seafront to choose from. Download our Beach Check App from your app store. The app uses a simple colour coded system to show you where the quieter areas along the seafront are, allowing you and your loved ones to find the perfect spot to enjoy your day at the beach safely and in peace.
Help our local economy thrive by shopping with local independent businesses. Choosing where to spend our money can have a tremendously positive effect on our communities and the local economy. With so many incredible local businesses in Christchurch many of us already do!
From locally roasted coffee to award winning distilleries, freshly baked artisan bread to independent artists, Christchurch is blessed with stunning and specialist business owners that you won’t find anywhere else.
Local independent businesses give our communities character. It’s one of the reasons so many people come to visit. Instead of shopping with big-name retailers, you can make an active choice to support your local economy and help our communities thrive.
The National Health Service are encouraging anyone with a non-emergency medical problem to call 111 as their first point of contact. If you fall unwell whilst visiting our area, and the situation does not require emergency medical treatment, then either call 111 or access the 111 websites for all the information you need.
