Christchurch is a unique part of Britain’s south coast with a plethora of events taking place every year.

With a stunning harbourside backdrop and a town steeped in history you’ll be spoiled for choice with how much there is to see and do.

Christchurch is the place to be when it comes to summer music events. Whatever your taste in music, we can guarantee there will be a musical event that you’ll being queuing to get tickets for. Whether its laid-back jazz, lively bands or chart-topping hits, you’re sure to get your feet tapping in this town.

The Christchurch Music Festival has been going strong for over 25 years and takes place on the Quay on the first weekend in July, promising its audience a family fun day of entertainment with live bands playing throughout the weekend. On Saturday, the bands are accompanied by a variety of dance troupes delighting the crowds with their colourful routines.

The ever-popular Quomps brings the town alive every August with Christchurch’s annual smooth jazz festival. Stompin’ on the Quomps is a wealth of musicality, love and energy to get your heart pounding, your hands clapping and your feet stompin’.

Covering both music and sport – and claiming to be the largest of its kind – is Bournemouth 7s which takes place at nearby East Parley. Attracting players, spectators and festival-goers alike this is an action-packed weekend of live music, excellent sport and wonderful entertainment. More than 5,000 players come from all over to compete in a range of tournaments including rugby, netball, dodgeball and hockey. The elite competitions welcome some of the best national touring sides including a few international stars and are truly worth a watch! That said, Bournemouth 7s is much more than a sports festival. Famed for its unique atmosphere, the festival offers something for everyone whether you’re five or 85!

Anyone that claims Christchurch is a sleepy little place is telling you porkies!
