Bournemouth Beaches
Bournemouth's seven long miles of golden sands are bigger and better than ever before, offering something for everyone!
At Pier Approach, discover life beneath the waves at the Oceanarium or have a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants. Take a walk along the newly refurbished Pier for fantastic views of the bay, children’s rides and boat trips to a number of destinations along the coast. Throughout the year, the Pier Approach area hosts a great selection of market stalls, attractions and events.

Bournemouth beach
If you are travelling on the Land Train towards Poole from Bournemouth Pier, why not hop off at Durley Chine beach. A family favourite, Blue Flag award-winning Durley Chine beach is great for kids. Facilities include canoe hire and refreshment kiosk. It also boasts a traditional pub on the promenade, so you don’t have to go far for some good pub grub! There are plenty of beach huts to hire and ice creams to eat.
A five minute walk from Durley Chine towards Poole brings you to Alum Chine beach; home to the beautiful Tropical Gardens and has both Green and Blue Flag awards. Alum Chine is a great family friendly area with a pirate-themed children’s playground and water play area. Beach huts are available to hire all year round from the local beach office or book online via our Activity Booking Centre.

Wakeboarding
Take the Land Train from Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Beach. Boscombe seafront has been transformed from a sleepy 1950’s style beach into the exciting 21st century through Boscombe Spa Village redevelopment scheme. This area now boasts two restaurants, a newly renovated café and pier, surf shop and a range of volleyball courts available for hire.
Throughout the summer, a number of sporting events and summer holiday activities are held at this beach. Beach huts, deckchairs and sun beds are available to hire – call into the Beach Office to find out more.
