Bournemouth Beach
Bournemouth has consistently won awards for the quality, safety and cleanliness of its seven golden miles of beach. The sheltered Bay offers beautiful vistas and on a clear day you can easily see the Needles on the Isle of Wight and Old Harry's Rocks over in the Purbecks.
Every section of Bournemouth's beach offers a different experience, so whether you want to enjoy a range of watersports, enjoy plenty of family attractions at Pier Approach or simply relax with a good book - there is a bit of beach with your name on it!
Cliff lifts operate between 9.15am-5.30pm every day between Easter to the end of October. To hire beach deck chairs, sunbeds, windbreaks and parasols, help yourself at pick up points along the beach and an attendant will come and collect the hire charge once you are settled on the beach. To hire a beach hut,
visit any Seafront Office which are dotted along the seven mile stretch of beach and book yourself a room with a view with a day or a whole week! Bournemouth beach is also one of the safest beaches in the UK with RNLI Lifeguards based all the way along our seven mile stretch of beach. We also have lifeguards based at Boscombe Surf Reef,
365 days a year.
Doggy friendly beaches can be found at Alum Chine, Middle Chine, Fisherman's Walk and Hengistbury Head between 1 May and 30 September. Enquire at a Seafront Office or pick up a beach leaflet when you're here. Don't forget your doggy bags!
With some of the warmest sea temperatures in the UK, an exhilarating air festival that is the biggest of its kind in the world and a wealth of exciting things to see and do, it's not just Bournemouth's stunning seven-mile stretch of golden sands that people are talking about.
