The Christchurch Music Festival has been going strong for over 25 years and takes place on the Quay on the first weekend in July, promising its audience a family fun day of entertainment with live bands playing throughout the weekend. On Saturday, the bands are accompanied by a variety of dance troupes delighting the crowds with their colourful routines.
The ever-popular Quomps brings the town alive every August with Christchurch’s annual smooth jazz festival. Stompin’ on the Quomps is a wealth of musicality, love and energy to get your heart pounding, your hands clapping and your feet stompin’.
Covering both music and sport – and claiming to be the largest of its kind – is Bournemouth 7s which takes place at nearby East Parley. Attracting players, spectators and festival-goers alike this is an action-packed weekend of live music, excellent sport and wonderful entertainment. More than 5,000 players come from all over to compete in a range of tournaments including rugby, netball, dodgeball and hockey. The elite competitions welcome some of the best national touring sides including a few international stars and are truly worth a watch! That said, Bournemouth 7s is much more than a sports festival.
