Welcome to Bournemouth
Welcome to the UK's best beach - as voted in TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice awards for the second year in a row!
Our seven-mile stretch of unspoilt coastline and Blue Flag beaches provide the perfect backdrop for your Christmas staycation or long weekend.
Head here for a city-style break beside the sea and whether you’re looking for an iconic, period hotel or cosy, family-run B&B, there is a wide array of potential accommodation in and around Bournemouth.
Come and blow away those Christmas cobwebs on the ‘coast with the most’, there are acres of space to enjoy outdoor pursuits or mess about on the water, if you are warm (and brave) enough. Walk, run or cycle on sandy beaches, through award-winning Victorian gardens or along our majestic clifftops and bask in the glow of the twinkling Christmas lights.
As the weather turns colder and nights draw in, there are museums, amusements and the impressive BH2 complex where you can enjoy a great day out under cover from the Baltic Winter weather.
Christmas Tree Wonderland returns for its second season in 2019 and once again will be a star attraction for the 1000s of visitors to the town centre this year. Come along to marvel at a spectacular array of illuminations throughout the Lower Gardens, up to the Triangle, Horseshoe Common and Lansdowne.
In the magical town centre, festive feels can be found at the SKATE ice-rink and Moguls Bar, Santa’s Grotto at Beales, the Alpine Market and Lodge Bar and illuminated Big Wheel at Pier Approach. With illuminations featuring in Westbourne, Southbourne and beyond, the festive spirit is in full swing across the BCP region this Christmas!
There are also hundreds of bustling restaurants, cafés and bars in the heart of the town. Swing by one after a day traversing our Christmas Tree Trail, or indeed our varied and eclectic selection of high street shops and department stores to grab a bite to eat or a celebratory tipple before catching a show in one of our theatres or concert venues.
Fans of Christmas pantos will not be disappointed as Aladdin returns to The Pavilion for a run of shows from Saturday 7 December to Sunday 5 January, featuring EastEnders’ very own Richard Blackwood. Aladdin is always a family favourite and this performance will be the perfect way to rest your weary legs after exploring the length and breadth of this year’s expansive Christmas Tree Trail.
Whatever your plans this holiday season, at Bournemouth Tourism we hope you make the most of the festivities in the local area and look forward to you returning for some spectacular seaside action in 2020 #lovebournemouth
