About Us
This exhibition brings together the work of three leading artists from one family. Sally Winter, Ben Winter and Tom Winter work in three different mediums and with distinctive and highly individual styles.
There is however a common starting point and continuous thread and that is a starting point and recognition of the importance of drawing.
Sally Winter is a well known contemporary Printmaker working for over 40 years from her Dorset Studio, using the medium of intaglio etching and aquatint to evoke and describe the Dorset coast and surrounding landscape.
Following Art training at Central St Martins in London, Ben Winter returned to the south coast and established his studio in Christchurch and continued to paint the landscape and environment that had informed his childhood and beyond. Working in Acrylics and frequently on a large scale, he describes both the landscape and his responses to its moods and light .
Tom Winter Trained at the Slade School in London and like his brother returned to the Dorset coast. He now works from his studio at Hengistbury Head. Working in oils and occasionally printmaking, Tom is drawn to structure and the impact of light and colour on the landscape and the built environment and the adjacent coast.
Artwork is for sale.
