This requires getting hot and sticky as we raise the fire in the prehistoric furnace to 1000 C0
How did our ancestors know how to turn stone into metal? Who first made that leap of imagination and discovery that has shaped generations of lives over the past 3500 years?
This event is part of the Performing the Past project which aims to engage local people in local archaeology, focused around the well-used but little known site of Hengistbury Head.
