 No if’s or butts…..

"With the indoor smoking ban having come into force on July 1st additional bins for cigarette butts will be placed on Bournemouth’s seven miles of golden beaches."

Mark Smith Head of Tourism says: “We pride ourselves on both the cleanliness and environmental friendliness of our beaches, with the smoking ban expected to create additional litter, it makes sense to supply additional facilities for smokers.”

Bournemouth has worked ahead of the no smoking ban having installed dedicated non-smoking zones along its beaches back in 1996. Mark Smith adds: “We aim to provide a complete beach experience for all people, whether they are smokers or non-smokers, additional bins keep our beaches clean while still allowing people to smoke if they wish.”

Bournemouth has established itself as a premier venue for tourism with its beaches consistently winning four Blue Flags awards.
