Staff manning the Bike, which will be seen around Bournemouth and along the seafront, are available to ask for information or leaflets. The Bike is purely pedal-powered, and so has the added advantage of being ecologically sound.
Jon Weaver, Marketing and Events Manager for Bournemouth Tourism said: “This is yet another example of how we work in partnership to continually develop our tourism service to visitors in Bournemouth. At present our Tourist Information Centre has up to 1300 visitors per day and this is a further way to keep people up-to-date with information and exciting events in Bournemouth.”
The Bike, which is innovative and unique in its design, will distribute information and direct people to the Tourist Information Centre on Westover Road and the website www.bournemouth.co.uk. Tim Sanders at Discover Dorset Tours added: “Bournemouth and Dorset has a number of fantastic attractions and tourist sites such as Durdle Door and Corfe Castle and the Bike allows us to get more information to people who wish to explore the delights of Bournemouth and beyond.”
The Bike is highly visible, carrying the Bournemouth Tourism logo and information signs.
