"This Easter here there nothing more satisfying than a lovely walk by the sea followed by a refreshing drink, or some great food. Here we look at some beautiful walks and some top places to visit while you are here."

1. From Sandbanks walk along to Bournemouth Pier enjoying the crisp, clear sea air, before stopping at award-winning restaurant Westbeach for a hot chocolate while looking out to the sea.

2. Stroll through award-winning gardens starting from the Pier, amble through the Lower Gardens taking in The Square before exploring the Upper Gardens. .

3. Drive to Corfe Castle, park the car and enjoy walking around the majestic and inspiring ruins of the Castle. Why not stop in one of Corfe’s old-fashioned country pubs for a traditional Sunday roast?

4. Drive to the Stour Valley Local Nature Reserve, parking at the junction of Muscliffe Lane and Granby road. You can then follow a signposted route enjoying the natural beauty of the Green Flag winning Stour Valley. With many species of wildflowers throughout the year and ducks to look out for, it will be a lovely relaxing walk enjoying the best that nature has to offer.

5. Visit Hengistbury Head, an area of ‘Special Scientific Interest’, with awe-inspiring views of the Isle of Wight before heading to the Hungry Hikers Café for a warm drink and even warmer hospitality.

6. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are two of the gems in Dorset’s crown. Take a walk past Durdle Door towards Lulworth Cove, enjoying breath-taking views of the sea and countryside. When at Lulworth Cove visit some of the wonderful little shops, and stop for a coffee to quench your thirst.

7. Christchurch Quay is an excellent place to explore. Starting from the Priory, have a look inside at the magnificent church dominating the historic Town’s skyline. Follow the left side of the Priory to a sheltered pathway which will bring you to the ruins of a Castle. The energetic amongst you might wish to climb the steps to the castle and enjoy a wonderful view. Having looked at the Castle ruins, turn right past the bowling green, you can then follow the River Avon round to the back of the Priory towards Christchurch Quay. With a quirky gift shop and swans to feed it is a lovely way to spend an afternoon.
