Since their debut in 1969, Steeleye Span have been one of the most influential names in British roots music. Pioneers of folk-rock, Steeleye Span changed the face of folk music forever, taking it from small clubs into the world of gold discs and international tours.
Held in memory to Alan Ball, football legends from England and Scotland will lock horns to the delight of the crowd at the St Mary's stadium. Already confirmed are Les Ferdinand, Chris Woods and Paul Merson. With a sqaud of 18 there are sure to be many more big name players involved.
Following his sell out shows at the Pavilion in 2006, and as part of G3 Supergroup at the BIC in 2004, Joe Satriani returns to Bournemouth in 2008 with his Super Colossal album and tour.
The tour will feature live music from THEM IS ME (members of Reef, Basement Jaxx and Lady Sovereign!), ROGERTHAT from Burleigh Heads, Australia, and the Clams playing acoustically.
Dorset Art Weeks gets set to return between 24th May – 8th June and is the UK’s largest open studios exhibition.
