Participating in Dorset Art Weeks is a new artist's 'Hub' called BAC-CHUS who present an improved Boscombe Spa Arts Trail for 2008. Expect an explosion of art and performance in over 50 venues and in some unexpected places in Boscombe and surrounding areas.
BAC-CHUS chair person Shirley McKenna says:
“The Boscombe Spa Arts Trail aims to create and strengthen relationships within and between the local business and prospering artist community, as well as improving the profile of Boscombe; encouraging additional visitors to the area and improving local commerce.”
The art and performances will showcase an array of diversity and the range of visual creativity unique to the Boscombe area. For example, the children of Kings Park School will be participating together with local up-and-coming artists, and famous resident artist Martyn Brewster (with his works exhibited worldwide and lauded by critics) has kindly said that as part of the trail he will also open his studio by appointment!
The public are invited to follow the Boscombe Spa Arts Trail using a map provided in the Trail Brochure. Further details are available from Shirley on 07518371950 and will appear on the website www.bac-chus.org.uk.
The expanding and explosive Boscombe Spa Arts Trail has also sparked a program of ‘festival’ events that are being organised by other local community groups which include an exhibition of art by members of The Butterfly Foundation at The Bourne Spring Centre, ‘Art in the Park’ family fun-days at Boscombe Chine Gardens on 25th & 26th May and a ‘Garden Party’ in Boscombe Precinct on 1st June.
