More than 50 people attended the first ‘Networking Showcase’, the first of a series of events, held on 20 March at the Bournemouth International Centre. Feedback from the networking event has been excellent and already resulted in business developments and enquiries.

Says organiser Suzy Wheeler, BICB’s sales co-ordinator. “The event was designed not only to bring business into our member venues but also to provide a forum for honing business networking and development skills and it certainly worked.”

Supported by organisations including Dorset Business, Bournemouth Area Hospitality Association (BAHA) and Bournemouth Chamber of Trade, the 50-plus guest list included event organisers, senior directors from local businesses and BICB member venues.

The BICB is a joint partnership between the BIC/Pavilion and local tourism, designed to maximise business tourism opportunities for the town. There are currently 80 venue members such as guests houses, restaurants, hotels and tourist attractions including several support services to the business tourism market.
