More Bus Bournemouth Air Festival updates

"Check out the latest festival developments"

Royal Navy
The Royal Navy have confirmed that RFA Mounts Bay will be docked for the duration of the Festival. They will have scheduled trips, by landing craft, to the ship for 30 minute tours – a great opportunity for anyone wanting to reminisce or find out what life on the ocean waves is all about! RFA Mounts Bay will also be working closely with Festival organisers to maximise the use of the ship during its time in Bournemouth with a planned drinks reception and press launch.

Obscura Café
For those of you who haven’t been to the Town Centre in the last couple of weeks, the Obscura Café, in the Square, has embraced the Air Festival and gone aviation! The top and lower levels of windows have been branded with Festival messages to ensure that we spread the word at every available opportunity. Look out for Debenhams window displays and the ‘coming soon’ display at Borders stores.

Said Roger Parker, Town Centre Manager; "It's a great look for the Town Centre and we hope all the retailers follow suit and dress their shops - we're looing forward to seeing what Debenhams and Borders come up with!"

Leaflets
The latest Air Festival leaflet is hot off the press, with all you need to know about the four-day extravaganza. It is available to order and should you wish to distribute from your hotel, shop or office, please contact Alycia Maylen and a collection or delivery will be organised for you.

Daily Echo
The air display line-up is due to be finalised in the next fortnight and full details of the planes displaying, along with flight times, will be available in the official souvenir brochure. Sponsored and printed by the Daily Echo, the brochure will be priced £5 and available from the end of July.

Park and ride
If you, your guests or colleagues are coming by car, make the most of the official ‘park and ride service’. For only £10 per car, park at one of the conveniently located venues: Littledown Centre (Saturday and Sunday only), Kings Park and Bournemouth University and catch a complimentary bus to the seafront, it’s as simple as that!

Alternatively get the train to Bournemouth, a bus to the town centre, use your bike (there are extra cycle stands located along the East Over Cliff) or if you live close by why not walk? We really would advise planning an alternative route to the town centre and avoid bringing your car – we’re expecting thousands of people to the Festival!
