OFF THE HOOK

The Junction Sports and Leisure Centre, Broadstone today released the exciting line-up for the OFF THE HOOK summer break programme. The rebranded centre under the new management of Bournemouth YMCA has teamed up with Bournemouth and Poole Extended Services to offer an innovative and diverse summer listing of cutting edge activities for young people.

The course will run for 4 weeks throughout the August Summer holiday and is available for youths aged between 10 - 15 years old. From only £80/week or £20/day, participants can enjoy activities including Street Dance, Circus Skills, Martial Arts, Caricature Artwork, DJing Sessions, Film Production, Totally Futsal Coaching, Trampoline Lessons and much more.

Days begin at 8am and finish at 6pm, making this the perfect option for working parents who can rest assured that their offspring are in the hands of the best local specialists and are learning a variety of new skills in a fun environment.

Also included in the summer break package is a FREE shuttle bus service stopping at Southbourne Grove, AFC Bournemouth, Queens Park Golf Club, Bournemouth University and Canford Heath Children’s Centre on route to the centre. Funded by the Councils Extended Services, the shuttle bus will improve accessibility and offer the opportunity to a wider target audience.

Every Wednesday groups will take part in road trip excursions to local attractions. These include Thorpe Park, Marwell Zoo and Rockley Water Sports. The trips have been heavily subsidised and are again included in the summer break fee.

OFF THE HOOK footballing ambassador Adam Lallana (England under 21 International and Southampton FC) said “What a great idea! I’m sure all involved will love every minute of it. The mixture of activities and road trips will greatly appeal to this age group and provides fantastic value for money”. He went on to say “I am proud to be part of The OFF THE HOOK team and look forward to meeting the young people present and handing out prizes.”

The Junction Sport and Leisure Centre has recently undergone £100,000 worth of investment to upgrade facilities including the newly fitted bar and function rooms and a further £100,000 is to be invested before the end of this year. The centre boasts top facilities including a 20m Indoor Swimming Pool, state of the art Fitness Suite with a comprehensive Free Weights Area, Four Outdoor Tennis Courts, Alpine Beauty Suite and a large Softplay ‘Kidz Kingdom’ Play Area....
