From 25 July – 3 August Weymouth will welcome an extraordinary visitor, Nowhereisland, a floating island sculpture by Alex Hartley on its journey from the Jurassic Coast to the Bristol Channel. Nowhereisland is made from material originating from a newly revealed island in the Arctic and during its journey to the UK, Nowhereisland was declared a new nation with citizenship open to all.
Nowhereisland will be anchored in Bowleaze Cove. The best view is from The Embassy, a mobile museum about Nowhereisland, parked on Furzy Cliff and packed with information telling the stories of this remarkable artwork: an island nation in search of its people.
