Light Night Bournemouth 2010

Friday 10th September is a date for everyone’s diary as Bournemouth Town Watch hosts the free event showcasing many venues with creative talent.

The evening starts from 6pm as various pubs, clubs, bars and special venues open their doors to a selection of art, music and dance performances.

Entertainment can also be enjoyed outdoors in the specific areas mapped in the event programme.

This is a very special occasion as on the same night the Inside Out Festival launches a new interactive installation in Bournemouth Square running until the 25th of September. This inspirational activity will be the main feature of Light Night Bournemouth 2010.

Light Night is a national concept that has been a huge success in cities around the UK and now Bournemouth is delighted to launch it’s first year. Bournemouth Town Watch is a dynamic group of licensees keen to encourage new audiences to the town. By teaming up with Strawberry Fields Presents, this is set to be a spectacular showcase bringing together groups and individuals from various communities.

7pm: PURE FUNK DANCE COMPANY ~ The South’s hottest street dance crew perform for you
8pm: SAMBA PANASHE
8pm til 11pm: CONGREGATION – INSIDE OUT FESTIVAL WORLD PREMIER LAUNCH ~ A fascinating video installation that turns pedestrians into performers as they interact with ever-changing colours and shapes illuminating Bournemouth Square.

Lower Gardens
10pm: F.L.A.M.E. FIRE SHOWS ~ Simon Chainey and friends host a special fire performance.

6pm til 10pm: THE LIONS ARE COMING - PRIDE IN BOURNEMOUTH, A WILD IN ART EVENT A sneak preview of the biggest art project the town has ever seen
7.50pm: SAMBA PANASHE
8pm til 10pm: MONKEYPUZZLE PARTY TIME ~ Live music to dance the night away

6pm: DARREN WELLS ~ A story telling how writing a story is turned into a film.
7pm til 9pm: PERCUSSION WORKS WITH SIMON MELLISH ~ Drumming performances and bongo workshop.
