With Christmas and New Year are just around the corner, check out what Bournemouth has to offer in 2012 to keep away the winter blues.

Classic Cars on the Prom will  be returning between the 8 April and 23 September on Sunday’s only (weather permitting) between 4pm and 6.30pm.

From complete novices to seasoned runners, there is something for everyone at next year’s Bournemouth Bay Run on Sunday 1 April 2012 along Bournemouth seafront. Organised by Bournemouth Tourism and Sponsored by Fitness First there will be a half marathon, 10k, 5k & 1k Childrens Fun Run. All sponsorship money raised will go to the British Heart Foundation charity.

Lower Gardens

Set in Bournemouth’s award-winning Lower Gardens is the Pinewalk Art Exhibition which will be open from the 26 May to 9 September. View an array of beautiful art work ranging from paintings, photography, sculptures, and so much more.

Look out for the Bournemouth Carnival between the 30 July and 5 August in various locations around Bournemouth. Other exciting events not to be missed include the Fun Fair organised by 'B Cole Amusements & Sons' at Redhill Common between the 22 March and 1 April (except Wednesdays). Or why not check out the Winton Carnival at Winton Recreational Ground on Saturday 30 June.

Bournemouth will be celebrating a very British year in 2012, embracing all that makes Britain great! To mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra will be performing at the Pavilion Theatre, as well as a spectacular evening of popular classics under the stars at Proms in the Park. The Olympic Torch will also be making its way through Bournemouth, with evening celebrations on the beach. If you feel inspired by the Olympics, then check out the Bournemouth International Triathlon at Bournemouth Pier on the 8 July.

A very British year

There’ll be plenty of family fun, including the Friday Family Fiestas which are set to take place throughout August with a spectacular firework display in the evening. The Candlelight Nights will return during the summer on Wednesday evenings on 1, 8, 15 and 22 August. Watch Bournemouth’s Lower Gardens become beautifully illuminated by hundreds of tea lights.

The spectacular Bournemouth Air Festival 2012 returns for a fifth year of stunning aerobatic displays and exciting evening entertainment, held from the 30 August to 2 September. Air Festival organisers hope to welcome back international display teams, a host of new aircraft, and create a bigger and better Night Air evening entertainment with more evening displays.
