Beach Essentials
To help plan your family day trip to the beach and get the most out of your time on the seafront, we’ve put together an essential pack of information. With seven-miles to choose from and so much on offer, we’ve broken the beach down into two sections, Alum Chine to Bournemouth Pier and Boscombe Pier to Southbourne, you can download maps below.

Public toilets, dogs, cycling, BBQ’s and watercraft
If you’re bringing your bike, pet dog, planning a BBQ on the seafront or want to know about watercraft restrictions the Seafront Byelaw information will answer your questions. A must-know are the locations and opening times of the seafront public toilets
Accessibility
Accessible parking is available right on the promenade, between Bournemouth and Boscombe Piers – the entrance is via Sea Road, Boscombe.
Permanent wheelchair users (plus one carer) enjoy free travel on the cliff lifts, land train and have complimentary access to Bournemouth Pier.
Beach going wheelchairs are available to hire from all seafront offices, subject to availability. Accessible toilets are RADAR key operated and can be obtained from all seafront offices.
