Bournemouth 2010
As we wave goodbye to 2009, surely only one thing springs to mind - Bournemouth’s 200th birthday! 2010 marks 200 years since Bournemouth was founded by Lewis Tregonwell in 1810.
So what have we got in store for the Bicentenary? Individuals, clubs, artists and musicians have all been busy putting the finishing touches to a whole host of varied events for the enjoyment of both residents and visitors. Events will kick start in January 2010 and will run throughout the year - we’re hoping for 200 events to celebrate 200 years!
The Bicentenary celebrations cater for all - Rugby tournaments, bowls competitions and a bit of car rallying should get all sporting buff’s pulses racing. Or if raising money for charity is on your mind, there are a number of events taking place to help you do just that. For example, be a part of Walk 4 Water 2010.
