Hire a Beach Pod

Throughout 2010 you can hire a unique HemingwayDesign beach pod. Overlooking the surf reef and beautiful Boscombe beach, the pods are situated in the Overstrand complex.

The renowned beach pods, designed by Wayne Hemingway MBE and Gerardine Hemingway MBE are totally unique to Bournemouth and each pod has been individually designed. For day use only, they feature mains electricity and French doors leading onto a private balcony over-looking the beach and the reef. Each pod can host around up to four people and features a bespoke kitchen unit including a kettle, microwave, Breville toastie maker, HemingwayDesign curtains and limited edition beach furniture including printed director’s chairs, deckchairs, a printed windbreak and wooden table.

With views stretching from the Isle of Wight to the east and the Isle of Purbeck on the West, the pods provide the ideal beach base in Bournemouth, during the holiday or surf season. They are the perfect spot for watching people or the surf and boast an enviable location, as they are housed alongside HemingwayDesign changing rooms, toilets and warm showers, Sorted Surf School and Urban Reef glass-fronted restaurant.

Vouchers for a week’s rental start at £85:

27th March - 28th May 2010 from £85 per week

29th May - 25th June 2010 from £150 per week

20th June - 3rd Sept 2010 from £250 per week

4th Sept - 29th Oct 2010 from £85 per week

You can also hire a pod from 31st October 2010 all the way through to 1st April 2011 for only £500 - that works out at just £4 per day.

Each pod is a piece of art in its own right as it has a feature wall, using a vintage, coastal artwork from the personal collection of Wayne Hemingway MBE and Gerardine Hemingway MBE, of “Red or Dead” fame.
