Green travel

Many of us take the car everywhere we go – especially on holidays - well it just seems easier doesn’t it? But have you thought about how to get about without the car on a UK holiday – depleting your carbon footprint as you go? Why not take the challenge?

The train or coach  allow you to sit back relax and take in the view for a great start to your break away. Arriving at Bournemouth Station you will find plenty of information in the travel and tourism office on Bournemouth and how to get around, including how to get your accommodation – local bus or by foot.

The good thing about Bournemouth, is that so much is within walking distance of the town centre, which is partially pedestrainised and has the beautiful gardens running through it, taking you down to the beach.

To explore the beach and save tired legs the land train is the perfect way to enjoy the stunning scenery. Or why not hire a bicycle from Front Beach Hire and ride along the seafront at your own pace (cycling times apply).

There are a number of local tour companies offering land and sea trips including Discover Dorset Tours and AJP Tours which can be booked at the Tourist Information Centre offering day trips throughout Dorset, or Dorset Cruises for trips around the coast.
