In and Around Bournemouth
Boscombe
Situated to the east of Bournemouth town centre, Boscombe has attracted plenty of attention from watersports enthusiasts. It provides uber-cool beach pods, with smart changing rooms and showers, designed with the surfer in mind. The beach front restaurants and bars serve up luscious meals, made from locally-sourced Dorset produce. You can walk, or take the land train from Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Pier, and take in the breathtaking views of the beaches’ beautiful golden sands. Only a short detour will take you to Boscombe Chine gardens, which boasts a children’s water play area, mini golf, nature trail and public art trail.
Charminster
Discover an amazing variety of international restaurants situated along Charminster Road, which is just a short taxi or bus ride from the town centre. You’ll be spoilt for choice, from Lebanese cuisine, Latin, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern food. As well as the food on offer, enjoy a leisurely stroll around the shops, or take a break in one of its local pubs.
Southbourne
Follow along the cliff top, or the sea front east of Boscombe towards Hengistbury Head, and discover the relaxed atmosphere of Southbourne. Enjoy a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle of Bournemouth by strolling inland through Fisherman’s Walk gardens to the shops.
Westbourne
The charming town of Westbourne offers a range of independent up-market shops, coffee houses and restaurants, including award-winning fish and chips. Take the bus direct from the town centre, or hop on the land train which takes you within walking distance of the town.
Winton
This vibrant and busy suburb, which is close to both Bournemouth town centre and Charminster, offers visitors a variety of shops, cafes and pubs.
