ETC International College

About Us

ETC International College is a British Council accredited English language training centre inspected by the ISI, the Office for Students / QAA and is a member of English UK, the IEA and RALSA.  Established in 1989, ETC is experienced in providing English language training, special purposes courses and university-level higher education programmes for international students.

Students choose ETC because they discover a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in which to study and caring professionals who are keen to help them make the most of their time in England.  At ETC we know that every student’s needs are unique and that their time here is precious.  At ETC students can be confident that they will receive helpful and efficient guidance during their studies at the college. 

ETC is also one of the only specialist language colleges in the UK to have its own student residence on site (right next door to the training centre) – just 300 metres from Bournemouth’s popular beach and the town centre.

Classes are much smaller than in state FE colleges and universities: ours typically have up to 14 students (compared to over 30 in most state-run FE and HE institutions).

ETC has a well-equipped library and a quiet room for self-study.  The café and covered patio provide students with an area to relax and meet up with their colleagues and tutors.  There is also free wireless connection to the internet at various locations in the college.

Courses
Here is a summary list of courses that we offer currently:

English Courses
General English (using the CEFR levels) – standard (20 lessons), intensive (24 lessons) and super-intensive (28 lessons).

IELTS, Trinity College and Cambridge exam preparation.

25 Specialist English courses (including English for Business, English for Medicine, English for HR, English for the Energy Industry, English for the Automotive Industry, etc).

Teacher training courses
English Teacher Training (CTESOL, which is run at initial level and DTESOL, which is run at Masters level) / CDC or CPD teaching courses / Cambridge TKT courses.

Further Education Courses
4 different University Foundation Programmes (Business / Technology / Media and Communications / Computing (with Cybersecurity) –36-week programme.  Recognised by various universities.

Higher Education Courses
HNC / HND in Business.
HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Different ways to study:
- individual 1:1 courses.
- tailor-made group programmes for adults or juniors. 
- in-country and in-company programmes.
